Introduction

A group of students who are interested in doing something for the environment can achieve much more than an individual can. Groups promote discussion, which can lead to innovative and exciting ideas. Working as an Eco club is also much more fun and is a good way to make be the friend of your environment. All sorts of clubs can be formed, but an eco club will enable you to do something positive about the environment and there are interesting and exciting activities that can be generated around the topic “our environment” including water conservation, resource conservation as well as plantation.

What is Eco Club?

          An Eco Club is a group of school students interested in environmental issues and willing to make significant contribution to society. Under its aegis, student explore environment, understand its concepts and challenged to take appropriate action to conserve and protect it. They sensitize their peers, school authorities, parents and community about environmental problems through club activities

• Promoting Environment friendly habits like reducing, reusing and recycling.

How to achieve objectives?

The objectives of this scheme are being realized through implementation of the following programs launched over the years:

• National Environment Awareness Campaign (NEAC).
• National Green Corps (NGC)/ECO-Club.
• Global Learning & Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE).
• Seminars/Symposia/Workshops.

Other Awareness Programs   like Quiz / Essay / Debate / Poster / Slogan competitions / Rally / Campaigns / Mock Eco Assembly, training programs, etc.

Environmental Education, Awareness and Training plays a significant role in encouraging and enhancing people’s participation in activities aimed at conservation, protection and management of the environment, essential for achieving sustainable development. The Ministry, therefore, accords priority for the promotion of non-formal environment education and creation of awareness among all students through diverse activities using traditional and modern media of communication. Some of the major activities undertaken in this regard are as follows:

Club Program

1. Motivate the students to keep their surroundings greens and clean by undertaking plantation of trees. (Forest Department provides free saplings from its 14 nurseries.
2. Promote ethos of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water.
3. Motivate students to imbibe habits and lifestyle for minimum waste generation, source separation of waste and disposing the waste to the nearest storage point.
4. Educate students to create awareness amongst public and sanitary workers, so as to stop the indiscriminate burning of waste which causes respiratory diseases.
5. Sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags, not to throw them in public places as they choke drains and sewers, cause water logging and provide breeding ground for mosquitoes.
6. Organize tree plantation programmes, awareness programmes such as Quiz, essay, painting com-petitions, rally, nukkad natak etc. regarding various environmental issues and educate children about re-use of waste material & preparation of products out of waste.
7. Organize Nature Trail in Wild Life Sanctuaries / Parks / Forest areas to know about the Bio-diversity.

INTRODUCTION

The dance club is open to one and all, irrespective of whether you know to dance or not. The dance club believes that anybody can dance, and all you need is the heart to dance. Dance is a way to express one’s emotions and feelings and the dance club is created by us being the good schools in Jharkhand precisely for the basic purpose.

Many dance events, workshops, etc., are organized by the dance club at The Scholar’s High School throughout the entire year in order to ensure that the class is engaged in creative activities. The club focuses on expressing emotions and feelings through various dance forms.

OBJECTIVE OF THE CLUB:

The club enables students to display an understanding of expressions and rhythm. It helps them in developing a multifaceted physicality by way of providing training in various dance techniques to compete with good schools in Ramgarh. It teaches the students to apply numerous value systems, principles, and approaches to their performances.

VARIOUS DANCE FORMS THAT ARE PROMOTED

• Hip-hop: Hip Hop Dance is a style of movement characterized by bounces and rocks executed to Hip Hop music. It has deep historical and social roots in African American culture, having emerged in Black communities living in 1970s New York. While frequently referred to as a singular dancestyle, Hip Hop dance is part of a whole culture of Hip Hop, that includes Deejaying, Graffiti, Emceeing, and several sub-styles of dance, including Breaking.

• Contemporary: Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. The term “contemporary" is somewhat misleading: it describes a genre that developed during the mid-20th century and is still very popular today.

• Jazz: Jazz danceis a performance [dance] and style that in the United States arose in the mid 20th century. Jazz dance may allude to vernacular jazz or to Broadway or dramatic jazz. The two types expand on African-American vernacular styles of dance that arose with jazz music. Vernacular jazz dance incorporates ragtime

• Robotics: The robot, also called mannequinor dancing machine, is an illusionary street dance style—often confused with popping—that attempts to imitate a dancing robot or mannequin. Robotics gained fame after Michael Jackson used the dance when he performed “Dancing Machine" with his brothers.

• Semi-classical: There are so many dance forms in the world, classical, western, folk, etc. And, then comes a dance form which is a fusion of classical steps like a semi classical dance. It is not intricate and complex as that of pure classical dance. So, if you are wondering how to learn Semi classical dance, we are your best solution. With our dance masters, you can learn every bit of this dance form.

• Zumba: Zumbais an exercise fitness program created by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto “Beto" Pérez during the 1990s. Zumba is a trademark owned by Zumba Fitness, LLC. The Brazilian pop singer Claudia Leitte has become the international ambassador to Zumba Fitness

• Aerobics: Aerobicsis a form of physical exercise that combines rhythmic aerobic exercise with stretching and strength training routines with the goal of improving all elements of fitness (flexibility, muscular strength, and cardio-vascular fitness). It is usually performed to music and may be practiced in a group setting led by an instructor (fitness professional), although it can be done solo and without musical accompaniment.

• Stretching: Stretchingcreates long lean muscles required for dancers and athletes. Stretching helps muscles to be more pliable. The build up of stress makes our muscles contract. This stress makes us feel tension not only to our bodies but also to our minds. Stretching eases this stress and helps us to relax

• Aerial: Aerial modern dance is a subgenreof modern dance first recognized in the United States in the 1970s. The choreography incorporates an apparatus that is often attached to the ceiling, allowing performers to explore space in three dimensions. The ability to incorporate vertical, as well as horizontal movement paths, allows for innovations in choreography and movement.

GOAL SETTING

• To provide pupils with a high quality experience of dance which encourages them towards leading lifelong healthy, active lifestyles.
• To allow students to experience a wide range of dance styles enabling them to develop their own interests and equip them with the skills and techniques to perform at their full potential.
• To allow pupils to develop their confidence and build upon their interest and interpersonal intelligence.
• To provide pupils with opportunities to experience competitive Dance with both solo and group opportunities.

RULES

• Registration of the participant should be completed 3 days prior to the event.
• Participants should not be under any disciplinary probation.
• Vulgarity and obscenity will not be entertained in any form.
• The decision of the judges will be final.
• Time limit of the performance should not exceed 2 minutes.
• Participant can wear proper Costume and Make-up.
• The Performance will be judged on the basis of creativity, rhythm, gestures, expression and over all performances.
• Participants can perform on track.
